All too often we are faced with challenges that make us realize maybe we have bitten off more than we can chew. These are the moments when sisterhood saves the day. From the most trivial issues, like should I wear a different top with these pants or the more life-changing issues like how should I respond to a particular family crisis, it has become more and more evident to us that this life isn’t meant to be navigated alone. The fabulous Coco Chanel once said that “a woman should have ropes and ropes of pearls.” Of course, we believe that literally, but we also believe that pearls of wisdom are a woman’s best accessories.
Cut to the sisters…blood related or not, almost all of us have our select group of sisters that we know to call on when we have lost our way—when we have lost our pearls—they are there to lend us their own pearls and get us back on the road to fabulousness.
Sounds mushy right? But we actually have research to back it up! Research out of Harvard and UPenn has demonstrated that people perceive those who seek advice as more competent than those who do not. Sooo…asking others for their pearls of wisdom makes you appear smarter! We’ll take it!
We are so lucky that there are seven of us to bounce ideas and issues on a daily basis. We are constantly seeking advice from one another and sometimes getting unsolicited advice too (we won’t name names!) The true beauty of a sisterhood is that you can discuss and ask nearly anything, without fear of sounding stupid.
